A Blog Post Talking About Other Blog Posts
I saw this meme on this blog: look up page 123 in the nearest book, look for the fifth sentence, then post the three sentences that follow that fifth sentence on page 123. I'm not sure what the point of this is, but I do know that none of the three-sentence-sets that I found in the books that I have on-hand seemed particularly interesting. So, I decided to complete this blog-task by quoting from page 123 of the novel that's in my mind, which, for the record, is entitled The Bodice and The Black Hole (it's a genre-bending science fiction/romance odyssey). Here it is:
Corallis the Nomadic Avenger bent over to examine the footprints in the dirt, his sexy blonde locks waving sexily in the breeze; the tracks evaporated a few meters ahead, as did the chances that Corallis would be able to track down the demented, bloodthirsty clone of that kid who starred in Boy Meets World and destroy it before it unleashed its awful vengeance and murdered an entire town (again).
"AW SHUCKS! Well, ya reckon' we oughtta shoot up some squirrels and cook ourselves up some vittles a'fore it gets too dark?", Redneck-Bot 7X-J queried as the light of one of the 8 setting suns of Planet Awesome glinted off its metallic mullet.
Corallis ignored the robot and shifted uneasily in his super-awesome MechanizedPowerSuitArmor with really cool shit like flame throwing power gloves and shoulder-mounted missile-launchers and like laser eye beam augmentations, pondering his next move--night would come soon, and with it...the rain of lava dildos.
Speaking of robots, this blog post is noteworthy: it details how FoxNews.com posted a story entitled "Scientist: Terrorists May Use Robots in Future Attacks". That's right: FoxNews.com is trying to warn us that terrorists might develop robots and use them to attack people. I'm a little confused though, because the blog post mocks the Fox story. Honestly, if you don't think that terrorist robots controlled by other terrorists who are not robots aren't a legitimate threat, then you're incredibly naive. Ultimately, I'm just bummed that I didn't think of the idea first. Oh well: The Bodice and The Black Hole is still in progress, so there's time to work some terrorist robots in there.
Lastly, I posted a link in the previous entry to "Garfield Minus Garfield", which is a genius site. My one criticism, though, was that none of the cartoons on that site featured Odie. Fortunately, a coworker of mine heard my complaint, took matters into his own hands, and rectified the situation. Behold the awesomeness:
